Your phone says you have 12,847 photos. How many can you actually hold?
It's the question behind almost every first-time order we get at the shop. Someone's grandmother turned eighty, or a baby turned one, or a phone died and took a scare with it — and suddenly printing photos went from "someday" to "this week". If that's you, here's everything we'd tell you across the counter: your options, what things cost in 2026, and the small decisions that make the difference between prints that live in a drawer and prints you actually look at.
Your three options, honestly compared
1. Instant kiosks (malls, convenience stores)
Self-service kiosks are everywhere and genuinely fast — plug in your phone, tap, collect. The trade-offs: machine-grade paper, no colour correction (what's on your screen is what you get, including that dim restaurant lighting), limited sizes, and per-print prices that climb quickly beyond 4R. Good for: a handful of prints you need right now.
2. Online-only print labs
Order from your sofa, prints arrive by post in a few days. Prices are competitive and the convenience is real. The trade-offs: you can't see the paper before you commit, and if something's off — a crop gone wrong, colours printing darker than your screen — the fix is another round of shipping. Good for: big batches when you're not in a hurry and know exactly what you want.
3. A real photo shop
The oldest option is still the most underrated. A dedicated photo lab prints on professional paper (we use Fujifilm Supreme lustre), a human looks at your files before printing, and if a photo needs brightening or a crop adjusted, it gets done — usually without you ever knowing there was a problem. You can order online and collect, or walk in and talk to someone who's been printing photos for decades.
We're biased, obviously: KT Colour has been printing Singapore's photos since 1994, from Hong Lim Complex in Chinatown. But the comparison above is genuinely how we'd explain it to a friend — kiosks and online labs have their place. We just think most photos deserve better paper and a second pair of eyes.
What photo printing costs in Singapore (2026)
These are our prices — kiosks and online labs typically run 20–50% higher for small sizes once you factor in delivery:

Not every photo wants to be a rectangle
Some photos suit a different mood. Our retro prints — Instax-style with the thick white border, classic 70s squares, jumbo squares — are what people order for gallery walls, farewell gifts, wedding favours and desk strings-with-pegs. You can add a handwritten-style caption to the border, and bulk pricing kicks in from just 13 prints, so a whole wall costs less than a restaurant dinner.
Five tips for prints you'll actually love
- Print at the right size for the photo. A phone photo prints beautifully at 4R–8R; for poster sizes, check it isn't a heavy crop of a larger image.
- Lustre beats glossy for most homes. Glossy looks vivid but shows fingerprints and glare under Singapore lighting; lustre (our default) keeps the colour without the shine.
- Don't over-edit before printing. Heavy filters that look good on a bright screen often print dark. A good lab corrects exposure for you.
- Order the doubles. At 200+ prints, 4R drops to $0.30 each — printing a second set for the grandparents costs almost nothing extra.
- Decide where the prints will live before you order. It changes what you print: album photos can be 4R and plentiful; a wall photo should be one great shot at 8R or larger.
After printing: frame it, or album it
The shoebox is where prints go to be forgotten. Two better endings:
On the wall or the shelf. Our ready-made frames — wooden, aluminium and acrylic, from 4R to A3 — fit standard print sizes exactly, so there's no trimming or matting maths. Or skip the assembly: order a framed print and we print your photo and fit it into the frame for you, ready to hang or gift.
In an album that will outlive your phone. A classic 4R photo album holds 120–300 prints and turns a year of camera roll into something a visitor can actually flip through. For gifting single photos, photo holders — flip-open cards and standees — are the little touch that makes a $0.35 print feel like a present.
And if one photo deserves more than a frame, the same file can become a canvas wrap or a page in a lay-flat photobook.
